John Cavanagh, a Toronto, Canada native, was a standout defensive player who helped lead Tiffin University to four consecutive Men's Soccer Championships in the Mid-Ohio Conference. He was also captain of Tiffin University's first NAIA National Tournament qualifier. During his career from 1985-89, Cavanagh earned NAIA All-American honors while playing on a defensive line that also included Tiffin University Hall of Fame Inductees Phil Walford, Neil Day, and Scott Morrissey. He was also an All-Region, All-District, and All-Conference performer. After graduating with a degree in Management, Cavanagh established his own real estate appraisal business in Columbus, where he and his wife Kelly currently reside.
