The Tiffin University baseball team split its doubleheader against Hillsdale College.

The Dragons improve to 20-11 overall, 15-9 in the conference, while the Chargers improve to 15-17 overall and 11-13 in the conference.

After the doubleheader, the Tiffin University baseball program honored its nine-member senior class that included: Colin BeDell, Peyton Clift, Kyle Vance, Nick Whetnall, Max Dakin, Jake Monnin, Robert Guerrero III, Aaron George, and Quinn Gray.

Game One:

The Dragons started strong as Jake Shier hit a bunt single to lead off the inning then stole second and third. Griffin Stevens grounded out to the shortstop allowing Shier to cross the plate to lead 1-0.

The Dragons kept the pressure on in the second as Zach Campbell hit a home run to right field with two outs to lead 2-0. Then, Shier reached first on a throwing error from the third baseman, Danny Donnelly walked and Shier advanced to third on a passed ball, and Stevens hit a double down the left-field line to score Shier and advance Donnelly to third. Tim Orr doubled to deep right-center to score Stevens and Donnelly to lead 5-0. Then Orr advanced on two consecutive balks by the Charger pitcher to score and give Tiffin a 6-0 lead. 

The Chargers leadoff hitter hit a home run to right field for their lone run through four. 

With the bases loaded Stevens reached on a fielder's choice by the third baseman who was trying to throw out the lead runner but the throw was not in time as the Dragons scored. Next at bat was Orr who singled to left field to score Shier from third to lead Hillsdale 8-1. 

Tiffin's offense was led by Tim Orr who went 2-for-3, with three RBI, and one run, while Zach Campbell went 2-for-4 with a home run, one RBI, and one run scored.

Michael Boswell was strong on the mound as he pitched all seven innings, allowed one run on three hits, and struck out six. 

Game Two:

The Chargers opened the scoring in the second off a homer from Passinaul. The Dragons responded with two runs in the bottom of the second as Tommy Thamann grounded out to shortstop with runners on second and third to allow Vance to score, and the next batter Shier singled to score Thomas Auth. 

In the third, Hillsdale scored again to tie the game at 2-2. The Dragons regained the lead later that inning with Nich Green scoring on a wild pitch. 

Hillsdale scored two more in the fifth and seventh to take a 6-3 lead over the hosts. Tiffin responded in the seventh off a home run to left-center from Griffin Stevens to come within two of the Chargers. 

The Chargers scored three more runs in the ninth to lead 9-4. The Dragons had some fight left in them though as they scored one off a Stevens sacrifice fly to right field that scored Shier from third. Tiffin was unable to mount a comeback and they lost game four of the series 9-5.

Jake Shier had a game, hitting 4-for-5, with one run, and one RBI, and teammate Griffin Stevens went 2-for-4, scored one run, and had two RBI.

Francisco Olivarez did well in the start, pitching 4.0 innings, giving up two runs, and striking out two.
