Dragons Fall at No. 16 Southern Indiana

Box Score

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Tiffin men's basketball held a five-point lead over Southern Indiana at the half, but the No. 16-ranked Screaming Eagles rallied for a 105-89 win on Sunday afternoon.

The game wraps up the 2019 portion of Tiffin's schedule, as they now have a break until Jan. 4, 2020 when they resume conference play at Ohio Valley.

The Dragons poured in a whopping 18 threes in the game on 40 attempts (45%), tying the program record for most triples made in a game, last reaching 18 on Dec. 18, 2004 against Penn State Beaver.

Tiffin was dominated on the rebounds by USI, however, to the tune of 64-27. The disparity was especially felt on the offensive glass, as the Screaming Eagles pulled down 23 offensive rebounds compared to just four for TU.

Tiffin only turned the ball over seven times in the game, but could not find any offensive success aside from the three-point line, getting outscored in the paint 60-26.

Joshua Williams led the way for the Dragons with 23 points, including 6-12 shooting from deep while adding five rebounds and five steals. Jairus Stevens was next with 17 points, followed by Trent Williams at 14. Eric Turner wrapped up the double-figure scoring for TU with 12 points off the bench, including making four of seven attempted triples.
