Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dragons end season with 73-64 loss at Cedarville

The Tiffin University men's basketball team (6-21, 2-18 G-MAC) closed out the year on Saturday afternoon, falling on the road at Cedarville 73-64.

Tiffin ends the year with seven straight losses.

The first half was a battle which saw Cedarville take a 35-31 lead into the break. The half also featured seven ties and 13 lead changes. The teams battled back and forth towards the end of the first half and back-to-back baskets by Jonah Nesmith gave the Dragons a 29-28 lead with 2:40 on the clock.

The Yellow Jackets scored four straight to retake the lead and Cedarville held onto that lead for the remainder of the game. After a jumper by Noah Smith cut the deficit to one, the Yellow Jackets hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to end the first half.

The Dragons attempted a late-game comeback but fell short and Tiffin could only get as close as four points while Cedarville led by as many as 15.

Back-to-back three-pointers by TJ Pangonas cut the deficit to five, 66-61, with 3:59 left on the clock. The Dragons, however, went on another cold spell which ended any hopes of a comeback. Cedarville went on a 7-0 run and TU's next basketball didn't come until D'monyae Davis hit a three with time winding down.

Nesmith had a big day offensively scoring a career-high 24 points. Davis finished with 14 and Jacob Pleiman added 10. Noah Smith grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and KJ Pruitt finished with three points, two assists, and two rebounds.
