Tiffin University (2-3) bounced back from a disappointing performance against Mercyhurst, turning up the defense in the second half to streak past Wheeling Jesuit 13-7.
Tiffin fell behind 2-0 early but then rattled off four straight goals to take a 4-2 lead. After WJU tacked on a couple goals to tie it 4-4, Amanda Flotteron put a goal in the net with 18 seconds left in the half to give TU a 5-4 lead at the break.
TU opened the second half by scoring 4 of the first 5 goals, taking a 9-5 lead with 16:52 to play. Overall, the Dragons held an 8-3 scoring edge in the final 30 minutes.
Tiffin held a 28-22 shot advantage and also controlled the draws 13-8. Tori Nelson led the way with 4 goals, while Gina Abulone had 2 goals and 2 assists.
Morgan Sherley also had 2 goals, while Flotteron contributed 2 goals and an assist. Also scoring goals were Emily Roussel, Katie Hill, and Maddy Batley. Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, making 7 saves.
