The Tiffin University women's lacrosse team could not slow down a high-powered Ashland offense in the G-MAC Championship game on Saturday and lost by a final score of 22-6.
The Dragons finish the season 11-7 overall.
After falling behind 2-0, Kenna Wigginton scored to make it 2-1, but the Eagles scored the final three of the quarter to make it 5-1.
Tiffin never held the lead in the game, and Aryanna Rykard scored to cut the deficit to 6-2 with 13:13 left in the first half. After Rykard's goal, the Eagles exploded for eight unanswered goals and Ashland led 14-2 at halftime. 10 turnovers by the Dragons in the first half led to the Eagles' offensive explosion.
Ashland outscored TU 8-4 in the second half. The Dragons scored twice in both the third and fourth quarters.
Rykard led the offense scoring two goals while Wigginton, Lillian Graham, Dana Shehadeh, and Isabelle Vranjes each scored one. Guinevere Salas recorded one assist, and Lauren Walsh tallied three assists.
Tiffin recorded just 15 shot attempts to Ashland's 40, and the Eagles corralled nine more ground balls (17-8) than the Dragons. TU won 14 of the 30 draw controls.
Sarah Hart took the loss in goal, recording four saves in 60 minutes.
