The Tiffin University men's basketball team faltered Sunday evening, falling to the Michigan Tech Huskies 76-59.
The Dragons scored 25 points on 39% shooting from the floor, and 1 of 7 shooting from beyond the arc in the 1st half, but surrendered 34 points on 52% shooting to the Huskies. The Dragons struggled controlling the basketball, committing seven turnovers while handing out only three assists.
Halfway through the 2nd half, the Dragons were treading water, trailing by 10 points at the 9:39 mark, but the Huskies put the contest on ice with an 8-0 run to bump the Dragons' deficit to 18. The Dragons' shooting percentage continued to fall throughout the half, finishing at 33% from the floor.
The shooting woes came from all three levels on the floor, as they hit at 36% from the floor overall, 31% from three, and 57% from the free throw line. Tiffin was led in scoring by Terrell Mabins with 18 points. Mabins, being the only Dragon in double figures, was aided by Chrisean Marsden's 9 points and 5 rebounds.
The loss drops the Dragons to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in GLIAC play.
