23rd-ranked Walsh University went on an extended 28-7 run that lasted over 12 minutes to defeat the Dragons (5-12, 1-9 G-MAC) 76-58 Thursday night at the Gillmor Center.

For the second straight game, the Dragons started strong. The game opened with a D'monyae Davis jumper and Jonah Nesmith followed with two three-pointers to make it 8-0 Dragons two and a half minutes into the game. Walsh started to chip away and took their first lead with 12:02 left in the first half.

A 5-0 ran capped by a Noah Smith fastbreak layup put the Dragons back on top 21-20 with 8:28 left. Two minutes later, Walsh broke a 24-24 tie with a three-pointer with 6:29 left in the half, and the Cavaliers never trailed again.

The Dragons went cold offensively for over 12 minutes and trailed as Walsh extended their lead to a game-high 23 with 6:53 left in the game. Tiffin did manage to cut it to 14 with 4:27 on the clock, but any further momentum was halted on the next possession when Walsh knocked down a three to make it a 17-point game at the final media timeout.
