The Storm came to Tiffin for both team's GLIAC opener, but it was the Dragons that brought the thunder and lightning, as they turned up the offense and blasted past Lake Erie 17-8.
TU (5-6, 1-0) won their fifth straight game, outshooting the Storm in a rain-soaked game 36-25, building a 11-6 halftime lead. TU opened with three goals in the first 4 minutes and pushed their lead to 10-4 with 3:21 left in the half. They tightened the defense even more in the second half, allowing just 2 goals in the final 30 minutes behind the stellar goalkeeping of Jessica Bombard, who finished with 13 saves in 56 minutes.
Seven different Dragons scored as TU spread the offense around. Emily Roussel had 5 goals and 6 draw controls, while Tori Nelson had 4 goals. Gina Abulone had 2 goals and 3 assists, while Amanda Flotteron added 3 goals. Morgan Sherley had a goal with 4 assists, and Katie Hill and Alexis MacMillan also had goals.
