Tiffin University (0-1) hung with Lock Haven in their season opening game but fell apart in the final 20 minutes as Lock Haven posted a 15-4 win in a game played at Lycoming College.
With the Dragons trailling 3-2 with 12:21 left in the first half, LHU got some separation with a couple goals just before halftime to take a 5-2 lead at the break. TU continued to play close, narrowing the gap to 6-4 with 21:41 to play. But Lock Haven put the game away with 9 unanswered goals to close out the game.
Statistically LHU controlled play, outshooting TU 44-11 and grabbing 26 ground balls to TU's 12. They won the draw controls 14-7 and forced 18 TU turnovers.
Emily Roussel had 3 goals for TU, while Amanda Flotteron had another goal. Morgan Sherley registered an assist, while Randi Castner had 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. Jessica Bombard had 20 saves in goal.
