Tiffin University (8-10) played one of their sharpest games of the season, using sharp passing and solid defense to beat Walsh 14-1 in a game halted early due to a prolonged lightning storm. The win sends TU to the GLIAC Semifinals played at Grand Valley State on May 2.
The Dragons opened in strong fashion, scoring the first three goals in 11 minutes. After Walsh made it 3-1, the Dragons poured it on, scoring 8 unanswered goals to close out the half and take a 11-1 lead into halftime.
The Dragons forced 17 turnovers by halftime and also held a commanding 25-7 edge in shots. They also dominated the draws 14-2. TU added 3 more goals in the second half before the inclement weather halted play with 21:45 to play in the game.
Alexis MacMillan totaled 4 goals with an assist, while Emily Roussel also had a commanding game with 3 goals, 5 assists, and 3 caused turnovers. Morgan Sherley also had 3 goals.
Gina Abulone totaled 2 goals with 2 assists, while Tori Nelson added a goal with 3 assists. Kalie Weinheimer also had a goal, while Randi Castner won 5 draw controls. Jessica Bombard got the win in goal, making 4 saves over 38 minutes.
