Tiffin University (0-1) took on 5th-ranked Lock Haven in their season opener, and the Eagles lived up to their ranking, dispatching the Dragons 18-5.
The game was tied 1-1 four minutes into the game when Tori Nelson scored TU's first goal on a pass from Kalie Weinheimer. But Lock Haven ripped off eight straight scores over the next 18 minutes to effectively put the game away.
Lock Haven used sharp passing to total a 46-16 shot advantage while also forcing 20 TU turnovers, 12 in the first half. Lock Haven also held a 18-13 ground ball edge.
Emily Roussel led TU with 3 goals, while Katelyn Hill joined Nelson with a lone goal. Alexis MacMillan also had an assist.
Jessica Bombard took the loss in goal but did break the single game TU record with 24 saves in the game.
