Tiffin University (6-2) made Taylor Spang's mound effort a lot easier by turning up the offense, banging out 16 hits in a 9-2 win over Thomas Aquinas. In the nightcap, TU fell to Wayne State (NE) 5-2.
Spang picked up the win over 7 innings, scattering 6 hits while allowing 2 earned runs and fanning 8, but offense was the story of the day. Seven different Dragons had multiple hits in the game, with Kristin Robinson getting 3 hits for 2 RBI and Cassandra Brown also getting 3 hits.
Caitlin Houk had 2 hits for 4 RBI, Payton Denman had 2 hits with a double for 2 RBI, and Tamara Link added 2 hits with a double. Jena King tallied 2 hits, as did Kaitlyn Gruenewald.
Against Wayne State, Madison Yanek took the loss, allowing just one earned run over 4 innings. Kelsey Yaratch finished up and allowed no earned runs.
Brown added 2 more hits with a double, Link had a triple and RBI, and Yanek collected 2 hits with an RBI. Overall TU managed 7 hits.
