Game Recap: Softball |

Dramatic walkoff sends Dragons to G-MAC regular season title

Tiffin University (32-12, 20-4 G-MAC) enjoyed one of the most dramatic wins in its softball history, as a pinch hit two-run home run with the Dragons down to their final strike launched them to the G-MAC regular season championship 3-2 over Findlay.

The Dragons needed the victory to win the title outright, as a loss in the nightcap would have created a tie at the top between Tiffin, Ohio Dominican, and Findlay. Tiffin lost the opener 6-2 so a win in the nightcap was a must.

Tiffin did not lead in game two until the final swing of the game. Trailing 1-0 in the third, Jessica Miller tied the game with a big home run to left field.

Findlay got a run in the top of the seventh, and the Dragons got two quick outs to put them on the brink. Reagan Mengerink kept hope alive with a single, while Ella Esterby came off the bench to hit. With a 3-2 count, Esterby launched the pitch over the left field fence for the dramatic victory.

Lexi Key got the win, allowing 2 earned runs over 7 innings on 6 hits.

It marks the second consecutive regular season title for the Dragons, who also won in 2025 en route to an NCAA regional appearance.

In the opener, Esterby took the loss, allowing 4 earned runs over 7 innings. Both of Tiffin's runs came via the long ball, as Tori McPherson and Esterby hit solo shots to account for all of Tiffin's runs.

In the twinbill, all of Tiffin's runs came via home runs, with Esterby accounting for 3 of the 5 RBIs.
