HOUGHTON, Mich. - Hot three point shooting caused the Tiffin University men's basketball team (5-6, 1-5 GLIAC) to fall, 67-44 to Michigan Tech (8-2, 4-2 GLIAC), Saturday afternoon at SDC Gym.
Michigan Tech came out on fire, jumping to a 13-2 lead after seven minutes. Tiffin fought back, getting buckets from junior Ashton Khan and freshman Nick Ellison. That made it 13-6 with 12:08 to go.
In the second half, the Dragons cut the margin under 10 with a jumper from Khan. The Huskies scored 13 straight points to put the game out of reach. The big difference was MTU hitting 12 three-pointers to three for TU.
For Tiffin, senior Joe Graessle had 10 points and sophomore Kameron Wright scored eight.
For Michigan Tech, Austin Armga scored 19 and Ben Stelzer had 16.
