TIFFIN, Ohio – The Tiffin University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Brad Barlog as Associate Athletic Director. He will begin his appointment on campus on June 29.
"Brad's career path has led him to exactly where we need him at this point in our department's growth," said Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Director of Athletics
Kelly Daniel. "His extensive experience in collegiate athletics will allow us to continue expanding opportunities for leadership development, collaboration, and student-athlete success."
Barlog comes to Tiffin after serving the past two years as Director of Athletics & Student-Athlete Development at Delta College. In that role, he provided comprehensive leadership and oversight for the entire athletics department, with a strong focus on student-athlete success, operational excellence, and program growth. He led the development and implementation of the department's vision while overseeing budgets, staffing, and daily operations, including game management, equipment procurement, and policy administration. He also ensured compliance with NJCAA, MCCAA, and institutional regulations.
Additionally, Barlog directed fundraising and marketing efforts in collaboration with campus partners, served as the primary media contact, and helped strengthen community engagement through various outreach initiatives. A central component of his role was supporting student-athlete development by coordinating academic success programs and partnering with campus resources to promote achievement both in competition and in the classroom.
"Brad's passion for higher education and commitment to serving students make him an outstanding addition to our team," added Daniel. "We are excited to welcome Brad to Dragon Nation and look forward to the impact he will have on our department and campus community."
Prior to his time at Delta College, Barlog served as Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities and Events at Saginaw Valley State University. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of game day operations for home athletic events, managed athletic facilities and field maintenance, supervised summer camps, and directed laundry and equipment room operations.
He also coordinated athletic team travel and served as the advisor for SVSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Additionally, Barlog led the planning and execution of conference and NCAA championship events hosted by the university and served as the sport administrator for several men's and women's programs. At Saginaw Valley State, Barlog also played a key role in overseeing and executing multiple capital improvement projects, including major upgrades to athletic facilities such as turf installations, locker room additions, and weight room renovations.
"I am truly honored to be named Associate Athletic Director for Tiffin University and to have the opportunity to help lead such an outstanding department," said Barlog. "I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to President Schumacher, Assistant Vice President and Athletic Director
Kelly Daniel, the search committee, the athletics staff, coaches, and student-athletes, as well as the entire Tiffin University community, for entrusting me with this opportunity. I am also deeply thankful to the institutions, supervisors, colleagues, coaches, mentors, friends, and family members who have supported and guided me throughout my career."
Barlog earned his bachelor's degree in recreation and event management from Central Michigan University, where he also completed his master's degree in sports administration. He began his collegiate athletics career as a graduate assistant in facility operations and event management at CMU and later served as the assistant athletics director for recreation and facilities at Alma College before joining Saginaw Valley State. He is an active member of both the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFA) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
"I am excited to hit the ground running and contribute to the continued excellence and championship culture that defines Tiffin University athletics," said Barlog. "I look forward to meeting everyone and becoming an active member of both the Tiffin University family and the greater Tiffin community."
