INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following a successful week of competition, Isaac Houghton (men's cross country), Nick Cherry (men's soccer) and Katelyn Owens (volleyball) have been named Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athletes of the Week.
Houghton led Tiffin to the team championship at the 2026 Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, placing seventh overall in the Men's Gold 8K race with a time of 24:15.8. Houghton paced a Dragon squad that scored 120 points to capture the team title over a 21-team field, finishing ahead of Western Ontario and Marquette.
Cherry played all 180 minutes in goal for Tiffin's two games last week and posted two clean sheets. In pouring rain conditions at Northwood, Cherry tallied seven saves to help the Dragons secure a road win and then came up with two clutch second-half saves to preserve a 0-0 result against Lake Erie.
Owens led the Dragons to a 2-0 weekend with a team-best 31 kills across victories over Northwood and Hillsdale. She recorded a season-high 16 kills against Northwood before following with a match-leading 15 kills, a .290 hitting percentage, a service ace, and three blocks versus Hillsdale. Owens averaged 3.88 kills per set as Tiffin earned back-to-back G-MAC wins.
