TIFFIN, Ohio – Six Tiffin University student-athletes have been selected to the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-District ® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in athletics and academics.

The Dragons who were recognized for the 2025-26 academic year are Jordan Cortner, Gabe Douce, Gregoire Goupil, Garrett Hoepf, Johnny Howard and Ashton Vent.

To be eligible for Academic All-District ® consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students.

Academically, an undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a graduate student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.

Specific requirements for track & field include having recorded a Top 50 regional ranking in a single event during the indoor or outdoor season. Relays do not count as an individual event. For cross country, an athlete must have posted a Top-50 finish at their regional meet.

Sophomore Jordan Cortner earned the honor by maintaining a 3.90 GPA as a forensic psychology major. He recently competed in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships where he earned First Team All-American with his seventh-place finish in the 400 hurdles.

Fellow sophomore Gabe Douce also picked up the honor as he is majoring in exercise science and has maintained a 3.95 GPA. A mid distance runner, Douce finished fifth in the 1500 with a time of 3:53.79 at the G-MAC Outdoor Championships. He also scored a third-place finish in the DMR (9:56.20) at the G-MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and during the fall cross country season he qualified and competed in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.

Johnny Howard also picked up his first career CSC Academic All-District selection as he maintained a 3.88 GPA through his sophomore season. A justice advocacy major, Howard's regionally-ranked performances were in both the indoor and outdoor heptathlon.

Graduate students Garrett Hoepf and Gregoire Goupil earned the honor by maintaining perfect 4.0 GPAs throughout their graduate studies. Goupil recorded the team's top mark in the 110 meter hurdles and, during the indoor season, placed third in the 60 meter hurdles at the G-MAC Indoor Championships. Hoepf picked up the accolade with his fifth-place finish at the G-MAC Indoor Championships in the high jump.

The final Tiffin honoree was Ashton Vent, a distance and middle-distance runner majoring in teacher education, who has maintained a 3.90 GPA. This past year, Vent qualified for the Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships, where he recorded a collegiate-best time of 32:41.0 in the 10K. He also posted a 14th-place finish in the 10K at the G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Each student-athlete is now among those eligible for consideration for the 2025-26 Academic All-America ® Team that will be announced July 14.
