Tiffin University had two champions and eight total placers at the Alma Open.
Annesley Day (124 pounds) won one title, posting wins over Alma 11-4, Siena Heights by fall in 1:31, and Rochester 10-0.
Tiffin's other title came from
Sophia Antonio (138), who picked up wins over Siena Heights by pin in 1:52, Alma 6-0, and Davenport by pin in 51 seconds.
Sienna Sanborn (131) finished second with wins over Rochester by pin in 4:28 and Siena Heights by fall in 1:56. She lost in the title match to Davenport 4-1.
Gennaveve Matt (145) also took second, getting wins over Rochester by fall in 21 seconds and Alma by pin in 53 seconds. She was pinned by Michigan Revolution in 23 seconds in the title match.
Erin Martin (180) was a third-place finisher. After falling in her opener to Alma, she ripped off three wins in a row. She beat Davenport by fall in 5:51, outpointed Isabelle Wisenbaugh, and won by tech fall 11-0 over UofM Club Wrestling for third place.
Taking fourth was
Leah Pekar (117). She had wins over UofM Club by fall in 2:39 and Elizabeth Gonzales 12-0. She fell to Alma in the third-place match by fall in 2:56.
Anari Roberts (124) took fifth and posted wins over Southwestern Michigan by fall in 39 seconds and again over SMC by fall in 2:21.
Tiffin's final placer was
Alaysia Coleman (131), who took sixth. She had a win over Kendra Pritt by fall in 1:33.
Also picking up a win at the Open was
Khyra Washington Barron (145) by fall in 20 seconds over Olivet Club.
