Miller named NFCA First Team All American

Jessica Miller hit another milestone in her standout freshman campaign for Tiffin University softball, as the outfielder was named NFCA First Team All American.

Miller becomes the first Tiffin player in the NCAA era to land All American honors. She is only the second Tiffin player to ever land First Team honors, joining Kristina Schweikert (NAIA First Team in 2006).

Miller recently was named D2CCA First Team All Midwest Region and NFCA First Team All Midwest Region. She was also an NFCA finalist for Freshman of the Year. She already earned a unique double honor as the freshman was named both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the G-MAC.

Miller helped lead the team to the 2nd-seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional, the G-MAC regular season title, and a ranking of 17th nationally. She led the G-MAC in doubles, on-base percentage, slugging, and total bases while setting a new TU record with 25 doubles. She also ranks 1st in the nation in doubles and is 12th in runs. She hit .415 overall with 8 home runs and 49 RBI.

The NFCA All-America teams are voted on by the Association's All-America Committees. In Division II, the committee is comprised of one member head coach from each of the NCAA's eight regions. All student-athletes who were nominated  by a member head coach and voted to the first- or second-team All-Region squads were eligible for All-America consideration.
