The Tiffin University women's soccer team picked up their first win of the season, dominating the Pioneers of Malone 3-0.

 

The Dragons scored all three goals in the first half. 

 

The Dragons were on the prowl early in the 1st half, firing shots and finally breaking through in the 8th minute. Abby Morillon found the net from a perfect free kick shot to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead.

 

Tiffin's Alli McCabe scored the next goal, beating the defender and the goalkeeper through the right side in the 16th minute. The Dragons scored an insurance goal in the 37th minute, as Valerie Brown took a long shot from the right corner finding the net to give Tiffin a 3-0 lead.

 

At the break, the Dragons held a commanding 12-7 lead in shots and a 4-3 lead in corner kicks.

 

In the second half, even though Malone had an advantage in shots 9-5 over Tiffin, they couldn't get a goal. The Dragons' defense clamped down to keep Malone off the scoreboard til the final horn sounded.  

 

At the final horn, the Dragons fired 17 shots to 16 shots from Malone. Both teams took 5 corner kicks. Both goalkeepers saved 5 shots on target, with Shelby Haworth getting the win in goal for TU. 

 

The Dragons are now 1-9-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the conference.
