The series between the Tiffin University Dragons and Hillsdale Chargers continued to be a wild and high scoring affair. After defeating the Chargers yesterday 26-10, the Chargers returned fire on Sunday, beating the Dragons 17-5.
Hillsdale hit the board first, cracking a two run homer to lead 2-0 after an inning of play. Ryan Davis, not to be outdone, launched a two run shot of his own to tie the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the 2nd.
The Chargers added a run in the 4th, and then put the game out of reach with seven runs in the 5th. Kyle Durham cracked a two run bomb in the 6th inning, bringing the score to 10-4. Hillsdale continued to swing a hot bat in the 7th, scoring seven more runs to lead 17-4. Tiffin's Kurt Barbeau pushed the final run of the game home, singling to center field to score Devon Fisk.
Tyler Nichols took the loss on the mound, tossing four innings, surrendering eight hits and six runs. The Dragons collected eight hits, with Kurt Barbeau finishing 2 for 3 with a run batted in. Kyle Durham and Ryan Davis each went 1 for 3 with a home run and two RBI's.
Game three was suspended due to darkness in the top of the 7th, with Hillsdale leading 12-8. The suspended contest will resume on April 5, at 2:00 pm with the fourth and final game of the series to follow. The Dragons now sit 10-13 overall and 2-4 in GLIAC play.
