The Tiffin University softball team hosted GLIAC foe Ashland on Thursday afternoon, with the Eagles taking game one 5-2. The marathon that was game two was halted after the conclusion of seven inning due to darkness tied at 3-3.

The Eagles jumped on the scoreboard out of the gate, plating a run in the top of the 1st with a sacrifice fly to lead 1-0. Ashland added a pair of runs in the 3rd, stringing three hits together, including a run scoring triple. Tiffin dented the board the next half inning. The first two batters of the bottom of the 3rd went quietly, but Michelle Poe laced a double to become the Dragons' first threat. Allyson Rock duplicated Poe's feat with a double of her own to plate the Dragons' first run.

Allyson Rock collected another RBI in the 5th, sending a sacrifice fly to right field to pull the Dragons a run closer at 3-2. The Eagles pounded the final nails in the Dragons' coffin in the 7th, plating a pair of runs on three hits to drop TU 5-2.

Kimmy Reynolds went the distance on the mound, but suffered her third defeat of the season. Reynolds surrendered 12 hits, five runs, all earned, and punched out one. At the plate, Allyson Rock went 2 for 2 with two RBI's.

The Dragons will be back in action on Saturday, hosting the Ferris State Bulldogs, with game one slated for a 1:00 pm first pitch. The Dragons now sit at 20-12 overall and 5-5 in GLIAC play.
