Megan Bammann Elevated to Softball Head Coach

TIFFIN, OHIO – Megan (McMenemy) Bammann has been promoted to head coach of the Tiffin University softball program, Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Director of Athletics Kelly Daniel announced Tuesday.

Bammann, who has served as an assistant coach since the 2022 season, succeeds Paige McMenemy, who led the Dragons to a 152-106 overall record, including a 79-41 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

"Megan checks every box we look for in a head coach," said Daniel. "Promoting from within allows us to continue building on our momentum without interruption. Over the past four years, she has been an integral part of our success and has demonstrated the leadership, vision, and ability needed to lead this program."

During the past four seasons, Tiffin has established itself as a consistent contender in the G-MAC, highlighted by back-to-back regular season championships and a 41-7 conference record over the past two seasons. Bammann has played a key role in the program's success, helping the Dragons earn 17 All-G-MAC selections during her tenure.

"I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to serve as head coach after spending the past four years as an assistant," said Bammann. "This program and the student-athletes who are part of it mean so much to me, and I am truly grateful for the chance to continue building on the strong foundation established over the past four years."

During her collegiate playing career, Bammann competed for four seasons at Ohio State, making 49 starts across 82 appearances for the Buckeyes. She was recognized three times as an OSU Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten selection. As a senior, she recorded career-highs in all major offensive categories, including a .263 batting average, 11 RBI, and five extra-base hits. Defensively, she compiled a .980 fielding percentage with 27 assists and only three errors.

Bammann concluded her playing career with one season at Ohio University, where she earned Second Team All-MAC honors after starting 48 games and batting .309 with five home runs and 20 RBI.

"I want to thank Kelly Daniel, President Schumacher, and the entire administration for their trust and confidence in me to lead this program," said Bammann. "Our student-athletes, along with the support of our alumni, coaches, fans, friends, and families, are what make this program so special. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead and serve it moving forward."

A Westerville, Ohio native, is an OSU graduate with a bachelor's degree in health and rehabilitation sciences. She holds a master's degree in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University, with a specialization in coaching education.

"As a former Dragon, she understands our culture, our expectations, and what it takes to be successful at Tiffin University, added Daniel. "Our team is excited and confident heading into the season under Megan's leadership, and we look forward to continuing to build on the strong foundation that has been established while raising the ceiling for what this program can achieve. We are proud to have Megan lead the continued growth and success of our program as our head softball coach!"
