The Tiffin University softball team saw action in two shortened games, beating Concord University in five innings 8-0, and losing to Shepherd University 8-0 in six innings.

  Game One

The Dragons, similar to yesterday, jumped out of the gate, plating four runs in the 2nd inning. Tiffin's Cassandra Brown singled home Amanda Rock to give TU a 1-0 lead, and then came the big blow. Jamie Sevenish cleared the bases with a double, scoring three to boost the Dragon lead to 4-0.

In the 4th, Sevenish added two more RBI's to her stat line and two more runs for the cause, singling home Libby Crow and Samantha Ringwalt. A Libby Crow groundout in the 5th made it 7-0, and Cassandra Brown's double sent the Mountain Lions of Concord packing.

On the mound for the Dragons, Kimmy Reynolds moved to 5-0 on the year, tossing four shutout innings. It was the third consecutive shutout for Tiffin, and pushed their scoreless innings streak to 17. At the plate, Jamie Sevenish was 3 for 3 with five runs batted in.

  Game Two

The scoreless innings streak came to an abrupt end as the Dragons opponent, the Shepherd Rams, scored six runs in the 1st inning on three hits and an error. The Dragons were held hitless for the first three innings, before managing a pair of singles in the 4th.

The Rams tacked on a run in the 5th with a solo home run, and wrapped the contest up with a run in the 6th inning.

Dragon starter Sarah Brown was roughed up, pitching a third of an inning, surrendering five runs, three earned, and two hits. Kelsey Yaratch relieved Brown, tossing 5 1/3 innings. Allyson Rock had half of the Dragon hits, going 2 for 2 with a walk.

The split moves the Dragons to 9-7 overall.
