The Tiffin University women's soccer team fell on the road to the Ferris State Bulldogs, 4-1. The Dragons trailed 2-0 after a half, and never recovered.
The Bulldogs got on the board early, scoring off a corner kick in the 10th minute. Ferris played add on in the 18th minute, scoring on a header off another corner kick. At the half, shots were even at 12, but the Bulldogs racked up six corner kicks to the Dragons' one.
The Bulldogs added their 3rd goal of the game in the 66th minute off a free kick to make it a 3-0 game. The Dragons cracked the board in the 71st minute, as Svetlana Gudenkova was in the right place at the right time, scoring off a rebound to put the score at 3-1. The final score of the contest came in the 89th minute on a breakaway to give Ferris the 4-1 victory.
Ferris held the advantage in shots at 21-18, shots on goal at 10-8, and corner kicks at 10-1. Gudenkova took five shots, four on goal, and finally found the net off a rebound. Samantha Ortenzi takes the loss in goal for the Dragons, facingg ten shots, saving six.
The loss drops TU to 1-2-1 overall and 0-1 in GLIAC competition. Tiffin will be back at it Sunday afternoon, traveling to Saginaw Valley for a 12 p.m.. start time.
