The Tiffin University women's soccer team struck first against the Walsh Cavaliers, but surrendered four unanswered goals to fall 4-1.
Tiffin got on the board in the 11th minute of the 1st half, as Adrianna Currie's shot bounced off the Walsh keeper, then off the post to a charging Alli McCabe, who struck the back of the net for the initial salvo. Tiffin held that lead for a little over 14 minutes, before the Cavaliers began their comeback.
Walsh tied the game in the 25th minute, then the Cavaliers tacked on another goal in the 36th minute, and added their final goal of the half just 42 seconds later to take a 3-1 lead to the half. At the intermission, Walsh led in shots 14-9, and corner kicks 3-0.
Tiffin's offense was stymied by the Cavalier defense, allowing TU eight shots in the 2nd half for a game total of 17, with only seven coming on goal. Walsh found the net for the final time in the 58th minute on a breakaway that sealed the deal for the Cavaliers.
Offensively, Allison McCabe sent home the lone goal for Tiffin, giving her two for the season. Adrianna Currie was credited with the assist, her 4th of the year. In goal, Jennifer Sandberg took the loss, making five saves.
Tiffin falls to 3-10-2 overall and 1-9-1 in GLIAC play. The Dragons' season finale will be next Friday, October 30, as they travel to play the University of Findlay.
