The Tiffin University women's soccer team fell Friday afternoon to the Ohio Dominican Panthers 2-1.
The Panthers literally jumped out of the gate, scoring the first goal of the game in just 13 seconds. After that goal, the Dragon defense made life difficult for the Panthers. Tiffin got the offense rolling in the 15th minute, as Taylor Lewis took a perfect pass from Svetlana Gudenkova, and found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.
In the 2nd half, the Dragon offense sputtered, mustering only five shots, but the ODU offense broke the 1-1 tie in the 70th minute to go ahead 2-1. That score would hold up, as Tiffin was dealt a tough loss.
For the Dragons, Taylor Lewis recorded the only goal, and Svetlana Gudenkova continued to build upon her outstanding season, racking up an assist, to give her three this season, and her team leading 15th point. Samantha Ortenzi took the loss in goal, facing seven shots on goal, and saving five.
The loss drops TU to 2-5-1 overall, and 0-4 in the GLIAC. Tiffin will be back in action this Sunday, as they host the undefeated Ashland University Eagles at 12:00 p.m.
