Jena King drilled a home run in the 7th inning and Taylor Spang tossed a 6-hit gem, as Tiffin University (15-8, 4-2 GLIAC) earned a split with 7th-ranked Wayne State. TU won 1-0 and fell in the opener 7-0.
King broke up the scoreless pitcher's duel with her second hit of the game, driving a ball over the fence in right field for the eventual gamewinner. King accounted for all of the Dragons' hits in the game. Spang went the distance to improve to 6-1 on the season.
In the opener, Madison Yanek took the loss, allowing 6 earned runs over 7 innings. The Dragons managed just 6 singles in the contest, with Cassandra Brown getting 2 of them.
