Tiffin University (21-18, 8-12 GLIAC) dropped a pair of games at Northwood, falling in dramatic fashion 5-3 in 11 innings in the opener before managing just 3 hits in a 8-0 finale.
In the opener, Taylor Spang pitched well into the 11th inning, allowing just one run. The Dragons pushed two runs across the plate in the top of the 11th, taking a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the frame.
With one out, Northwood made it 3-2 on a run-scoring double. After another single, the Timberwolves ended the game with a walk-off 3-run home run.
Spang pitched 10.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs in taking the loss. Kristin Prokopakis had 3 hits along with Spang, who also had a double. Cassandra Brown and Madison Yanek had 2 hits each, while Kristin Robinson also had a double.
In the nightcap, Northwood banged out 14 hits to Tiffin's 3 hits, while also taking advantage of 4 TU errors and 5 walks. Yanek took the loss over 7 innings. Northwood came up with 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning to end the game.
Payton Denman had 2 hits to lead TU.
