Tiffin University (9-4) posted a split on Thursday, falling to Winona State 6-0 before defeating Wilmington (DE) 8-3.
Tiffin banged out 12 hits in the win over Wilmington. Madison Yanek got the win, tossing the first four innings, while Kelsey Yaratch finished the game in relief.
Offensively Kristen Robinson had 3 hits with a double, Caitlyn Houk had 2 hits for 2 RBI, and Yanek added 2 hits with a double and RBI. Yaratch and Jena King also added RBIs.
Against Winona State, the Dragons were unable to get anything going offensively as they generated just 5 hits. Tamara Link had 2 of those hits including a double.
Winona State scored twice in the first inning and added three more runs in the third inning to put TU away. Taylor Spang took her first loss of the season, going 2.1 innings and allowing 4 earned runs. Kelsey Yaratch finished up with 3.2 innings of work, allowing one earned run.
