Tiffin University Women's Soccer completed Melissa Biggs' first season as head coach Saturday at Malone. The Dragons played the Pioneers even for 45 minutes, but Malone scored the lone goal of the second half to get the 2-1 victory.
Svetlana Gudenkova scored the first goal of the match early in the first half when she took the crossover pass from Leanne Tobin to give Tiffin the 1-0 lead at 5:33 of the first half. Gudenkova had missed much of the season due to injury but was able to return to the lineup for the final weekend of the schedule. The Dragons led until 35:56 of half number 1 when Malone's Christine Najjar scored off a header. Leah Arnold was credited with the assist. That was the final score of the first half and the teams headed into intermission tied 1-1.
Najjar scored the first and only goal of the second half at 81:57 with her second header into the net off the assist from Darby Burch. Tiffin was unable to find the net in the second half. Malone put 9 of 21 shots on goal and the Dragons only managed 4 of 14.
Tiffin finishes the season 2-16, 1-11 GLIAC. Malone improves to 3-13, 2-10 GLIAC.
