Tiffin University (22-24, 15-11 GLIAC) broke out the lumber in completing a 6-2 week, swatting the Storm 9-0 and 11-1 in a pair of 5 inning games in their regular season finale. Up next for the Dragons is a trip to the GLIAC Tournament next weekend.
In the opener, Amber Young improved to 10-7 on the season with a 2-hit shutout, fanning 6 along the way. Brianna Gamm had 3 hits with a triple for 2 RBI while Kristin Prokopakis also had 2 hits with a triple for 2 RBI. Caitlin Houk jacked a two-run home run, while Kasie Sepeda also had 2 hits with a bomb.
Payton Denman and Cassandra Brown also added two hits with a double apiece.
In game two, Madison Yanek got the win, tossing 3 innings and allowing no earned runs on 5 hits. Gamm added 3 more RBI, while Brown had 3 hits with a double for 2 RBI.
Houk had 2 hits for 2 RBI, while Prokopakis and Emily Shaw also had 2 hits each.
