Tiffin University (19-23, 12-10 GLIAC) broke out the offense in a big way, racking up 27 hits in a 15-1 and 6-2 sweep of Malone.
In the opener, Amber Young got the win, allowing one earned run with 9 strikeouts over 4 innings of work. She inherited a 10 run lead before throwing her first pitch, as the Dragons erupted in the top of the first and never looked back. Overall they had 17 hits in the game.
Malone also hurt themselves, committing three errors leading to 9 unearned runs.
Payton Denman had 4 hits with a double for 5 RBI, while Brianna Gamm had 4 hits also with a double for 2 RBI. Cassandra Brown had 3 hits with a double, while Caitlin Houk also had 2 hits with a double for 4 RBI. Kasie Sepeda also drilled a two-run home run.
In game two, Madison Yanek got the win with 3 innings of relief, allowing one earned run. Amber Young picked up the save with 1.2 innings of work to finish the game off. Sarah Brown started the game, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing one earned run.
Tiffin scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break the game open. Sepeda had 2 more hits with another bomb for 3 RBI, while Gamm had 2 hits for 2 RBI. Kristin Prokopakis had 2 hits with a triple and RBI while Cassandra Brown also had 2 hits.
