MIDLAND, Mich. - Sophomore Nick Calandra and senior Tayler Glass had two hits each as the Tiffin University baseball team (17-24, 11-14 GLIAC) lost 8-4 to Northwood (15-18, 10-12 GLIAC), Monday afternoon at Gerace Stadium.
In the third inning, Glass laced a double to left center field. Senior Ryan Williams's grounder was misplayed, allowing Glass to score. Northwood would score four runs in the bottom of the third.
The squads traded runs in the fourth. In the fifth inning, Williams was at second with two outs. Calandra singled through the left side to score Williams and make it 5-3. The Timberwolves scored three in the bottom of the sixth to seal the game.
For Tiffin, senior Brent Faber (3-3) gave up seven hits, eight runs, six earned, walked six and struck out two in 5.7 innings.
For Northwood, Jake Oard had three hits and drove in three runs. Andrew Joseph (4-4) gave up three hits, two runs, walked two and struck out one in five innings.
