Tiffin University (10-13, 4-4 GLIAC) put together big hitting and solid pitching in sweeping a twinbill from Hillsdale, taking game one 7-3 and collecting 12 hits en route to a 14-2 game two victory.
In the opener, Nick Rodesky went 6 innings and allowed 5 hits and no earned runs while fanning 10 for the win. Three Dragons errors in the top of the first inning led to a quick 3-0 Hillsdale lead, but the Dragons responded quickly, getting 5 runs of their own in the bottom of the first to take a lead they would not relinquish.
Ryan Williams had a double for 2 RBI, while Colin Sallee also had 2 RBI. Cole McCurry had 2 hits with an RBI and Nick Calandra had a double and RBI.
In game two, the Dragons tallied 5 runs in the first inning, they tacked on 3 more in the fourth and 6 runs to put the game away in the fifth inning. Brent Faber got the win, going 6 innings and allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run while fanning 6.
Jordan Stum had 3 hits with 2 doubles for 3 RBI, while Brock Mitchell also drilled a three-run home run. Mario Rodriguez had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI, Calandra had 2 hits with 2 RBI, and Garrett Vernau added 2 RBI. Jordan Widman also had 2 hits in the game.
