FINDLAY, Ohio - Senior Ryan Locke had three hits as the Tiffin University baseball team (8-13, 2-4 GLIAC) lost 3-2 to Findlay (9-8, 2-4 GLIAC), Thursday afternoon at Fifth Third Field.
In the first inning, Tiffin opened with singles from senior Roger Christensen, sophomore Nick Hueneburg and Locke. Senior KC Weber ripped a single up the middle to score Christensen and Hueneburg. Findlay scored one run in the bottom of the first.
The Oilers tied the game in the fifth at 2-2. In the ninth, the Dragons had the bases loaded but UF got a fielder's choice to end the threat. Findlay would score in the bottom half for the win.
For Tiffin, Hueneburg extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Sophomore Greg Sombati (1-3) gave up one hit, one run which was earned and walked three in two-thirds of an inning. Freshman Logan Sendelbach had a strong start giving up nine hits, two runs, one earned, walked three and struck out six in eight innings.
For Findlay, Reid Rothenbuhler led the way with three hits. Mason Mayberry (1-1) walked one in one-third of an inning for the win.
Tiffin is home Friday, March 29 taking on Hillsdale. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
