DETROIT, Mich. - The Tiffin University men's basketball team (4-2, 0-1 GLIAC) lost 65-51 to Wayne State (2-1, 1-0 GLIAC), Thursday at Matthaei Gym.
For the first 10 minutes, both teams traded blows. At the 10:17 mark, Michael Lewis of Wayne State hit a free throw to tie the game at 16-16.
Tiffin went on a 9-3 run over the next three minutes. Senior Joe Graessle hit a lay-up and a free throw to give the Dragons a 25-19 lead with seven minutes to go.
The Warriors would tie the game with a minute to go. Junior Michael Bouley hit a charity toss to give TU a 33-32 lead at the half.
In the second half, WSU went on a 20-6 run in the first nine minutes to effectively end the contest.
For Tiffin, Graessle had 11 points and hit 5-of-6 from the line. Junior Ashton Khan had eight points and sophomore Korab Imami pulled down eight rebounds.
For Wayne State, Bryan Coleman had 17 points and eight rebounds while Chene Phillips had 14 points.
