TIFFIN, Ohio - It was a total team effort as the Tiffin University women's soccer team (2-7-1) beat Cedarville (8-4) 1-0, Tuesday afternoon at Paradiso Fields.
With just over a minute gone, junior Giulianne Domingues broke through the defense. She fired a strike from the right side that found the far left corner.
At the 70:25 mark, sophomore goalkeeper Kellie Gruber was caught out of position. However, the defense kicked the ball away as it was headed for the open net. Gruber stopped a line drive with 59 seconds to preserve the win.
Tiffin had 11 shots, two on goal, five corner kicks and was called for five fouls. Junior Hayley Coppola and Gruber combined for the shutout. Coppola had eight saves while Gruber had one.
Cedarville had 22 shots, 10 on goal, five corner kicks and was called for four fouls.
