Tiffin University (7-6, 4-5 GLIAC) used a couple of timely runs in both the first and second half to give itself some separation on the scoreboard from a scrappy Hillsdale squad, as the Dragons posted a close 68-53 victory.
The Chargers and Dragons battled throughout a close first half that had 5 ties and 6 lead changes. With 3:40 to play in the half and the Dragons trailing 20-18, TU went on a 13-5 run to close out the half and take a 31-25 lead into the half. Jordan Fraley drilled three three-pointers in that span, setting the tone for the second half to come.
Tiffin pushed their lead to 36-29 at the 15:56 mark of the second half, but the Chargers mounted a comeback, posting a 17-3 run that catapulted them to a 46-39 lead with 8:09 to go.
Tiffin weathered the storm though, using a total team effort to storm back on a 29-7 run to close out the game. Fraley continued her hot streak, burying a total of 7 treys en route to a team-high 22 points along with 5 rebounds, while Jessica Harris totaled 17 points and 16 rebounds with 4 blocks and 2 steals. Steph Kelly also reached double figures with 13 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Mary Kate Campbell had 9 points with 5 rebounds while Jillian Adams also had 5 rebounds.
The Dragons also outrebounded Hillsdale 50-38 while holding the Chargers to just 31 percent shooting for the game.
