TIFFIN, Ohio - The Tiffin University women's soccer team (2-3-2, 0-1-2 GLIAC) lost 2-1 to Ashland (2-6, 1-3 GLIAC), Sunday afternoon at Paradiso Fields.
In the first half, a defensive breakdown allowed Ashland to score a goal. Just 55 seconds into the second half, Alexandra Kovarik lofted the ball over the head of the Dragon keeper to make it 2-0.
At the 47:45 mark, senior Lesley Dotson fired a corner kick into the box. Freshman Giulianne Dominigues knocked it into the net to make it 2-1. With 4:06 left, senior Ashley Davis fired the ball at the net. The Eagle goalie made a great save to preserve the win.
Tiffin had 12 shots, seven on goal, six corner kicks and was called for eight fouls.
Ashland had 20 shots, seven on goal, three corner kicks and was called for seven fouls. Rebecca Plescia had six saves.
Tiffin hits the road, Friday, Sept. 28, taking on Northern Michigan. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
