Tiffin got a pair of solid outings on the mound from Amber Young and Abbey Cooksey, beating Ohio Dominican 1-0 in 8 innings and 3-2 in the nightcap. The Dragons improve to 26-20, 16-12 in the GLIAC.
In the opener, Young shut down the Panthers for 8 innings, allowing just 4 hits and fanning 7 over 139 pitches in the complete game shutout.
The Dragons got two hits apiece from Amanda Temple and Emily Shaw but stranded numerous runners before the game went into extra innings. TU finally broke through in the eighth when Meagan Baird doubled and Lesy Herbert came through with a two-out single to win the game.
In game two, the Dragons scored three runs in the fourth inning and Cooksey made it stand up. Temple doubled and was driven home by Baird's subsequent double to tie the score at 1-1. Herbert then came through with another big hit, this time a two-run bomb to left field to give TU a 3-1 lead.
Cooksey went the distance, allowing just one earned run and scattering three hits to improve to 14-10.
