CANTON, Ohio - It's all about timing as senior Lesley Dotson's goal lifted the Tiffin University women's soccer team (6-7-2, 4-5-2 GLIAC) to a 1-0 win over Malone (1-12-1, 0-10-1 GLIAC), Sunday afternoon at Pioneer Field.
With 5:12 left in the first half, Dotson hammered a shot from 25 yards out. It boomeranged off the post and into the net. It was the first goal of the season for Dotson and her first game-winning goal in her career. The goal ended a scoreless streak for the Dragons that had reached 310:13.
Tiffin had 31 shots, 11 on goal, seven corner kicks and was called for eight fouls. Sophomore Hayley Coppola and senior Lindsey Gallagher combined for seven saves on the day.
Malone had 12 shots, seven on goal, three corner kicks and was called for seven fouls. Angie Nutial had 10 saves for the Pioneers.
