TIFFIN, Ohio - Senior Shelly Rogers had a hand in all four goals as the Tiffin University women's soccer team (5-3-2) beat Malone (1-7) 4-0, Friday afternoon at Paradiso Fields.
At the 14:14 mark, Rogers sent the ball downfield to junior Alexandra Sevastakis. She tapped it to junior Erin Thomas to put it in the net to make it 1-0. At the 26:57 mark, junior Lauren Merriman made a pass inside that Rogers redirected into the net.
That made it 2-0. The Dragons would score twice in the first five minutes of the second half to seal the game.
For Tiffin, they had 14 shots with six on goal, one corner kick and were called for eight fouls. Sophomore Lauren Bowyer scored two goals while Rogers had one goal and three assists.
Junior Lindsay Gallagher and freshman Hayley Coppola combined for eight saves in the shutout. Tiffin has not given up a goal over the last 421 minutes and 32 seconds.
For Malone, they had 14 shots with eight on goal, three corner kicks and were called for 11 fouls.
Tiffin hits the road, Sunday, Oct. 2, taking on Findlay. The game is scheduled to start at noon.
