TIFFIN, Ohio - Junior Lindsey Gallagher had 11 saves as the Tiffin University women's soccer team (0-0-1) came away with a 1-1 tie with Bellarmine (0-0-1), Friday afternoon at Paradiso Field.
The Dragons drew first blood as junior Ashley Davis found senior Shelly Rogers at the top of the box. Rogers blasted the ball past the Knights' goalie to make it 1-0.
At the 56:56 mark, TU was called for a foul. Lauren Triplett fired up the free kick and Chelsea McCarty headed it in to make it 1-1.
It was a tale of two halves. Tiffin was outshot eight to three in the first half but all three shots were on goal. The Dragons had a great chance but junior Erin Thomas' shot was just wide left.
The Knights controlled the action for the last 65 minutes. They peppered the TU goal with 22 shots. Gallagher was a house afire, recording nine saves during this stanza.
Tiffin had six shots, three on goal, three corner kicks and was called for 19 fouls. Gallagher finished the game with 11 saves.
For Bellarmine, they had 30 shots, 12 on goal, nine corner kicks and were called for 12 fouls. Amy Kunowski finished with two saves.
