Tiffin University (8-5) lost a pair of narrow games March 17, losing to Indianapolis 4-3 and CW Post 5-4.
Against the Greyhounds, Mindy Meredith took the loss, allowing her first earned runs of the season. Up 1-0 in the fifth inning, Meredith allowed 3 runs and came out after tossing 4.2 innings. Amber Young finished up over the final 2.1 innings.
Melodi Murrieta drilled a home run in the 7th inning to bring the score to 4-3 but TU could get no closer.
In game two, Abbey Cooksey took the loss, allowing 4 earned runs over 5 innings while fanning 6. TU's defense didn't help her cause as they committed four errors on the day.
Tiffin nearly came back, however. Trailing 5-0, the Dragons tallied two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to climb to within 5-4. Amanda Temple had two hits with a home run for 2 RBIs while Murrieta drilled another home run for 2 RBIs. TU placed the tying run at second base with just one out in the sixth inning but two consecutive strikeouts ended the threat and TU did not challenge in the final inning.
