TIFFIN, Ohio - A strong defensive effort gave the Tiffin University women's soccer team (8-7-3, 7-5-2 GLIAC) a 2-0 win over Lake Erie (1-16-1, 0-14 GLIAC), Sunday afternoon at Paradiso Field.
 
  With the win, the Dragons qualified for the GLIAC Championships.
 
  At the 38:38 mark, senior Lauren Turkington served up a free kick. Sophomore Amanda Case headed the ball to senior Shelly Rogers who headed the ball in.
 
  With 1:37 to go, Rogers fired a long pass downfield to junior Alexandra Sevastakis. Sevastakis found junior Ashley Davis in the box. Davis then went around the goalie and scored.
 
  For Tiffin, they had 23 shots with 10 on goal, six corner kicks and were called for six fouls. Freshman Hayley Coppola saved all three shots she faced in picking up her first collegiate win.
 
  For Lake Erie, they had four shots with three on goal, one corner kick and were called for 21 fouls.
 
  Tiffin will head north to face Northern Michigan in the GLIAC Playoffs. Please check the website for update information on date and time.
