Dragons fall to Eagles in double overtime 2-1

Box Score $website.include("options")

Tiffin University held the early lead but could not make it last, failing to break a 1-1 tie in the second period and eventually falling in the 108th minute 2-1 to Ashland in two overtimes. The loss drops TU out of a first place tie with Ohio Dominican and knocks them down to third place in the GLIAC South division with a 7-7-3, 6-5-2 record.

Tiffin opened strong, getting a goal in the 7th minute from Ashley Davis on a two-touch pass from Shelly Rogers and Hannah Stevens to take a 1-0 lead. But Ashland answered in the 31st minute off a rocket free kick by Jamie Greene to send the score to 1-1 at the half.

TU continued to push offensively, outshooting Ashland 11-5 in the second half but not finding the back of the net.

Tiffin also held a strong 11-2 edge in corner kicks but it wasn't enough as Haley Frick sent a shot off Lindsey Gallagher's hand and then deflecting off the post and into the net in the 108th minute to end the game in Ashland's favor.

Gallagher finished with 4 saves in 110 minutes in taking the loss, while Rebecca Plescia made 10 saves for the Eagles to get the win.
