Dragons swing hot bats in doubleheader sweep of Cardinals

Tiffin University (8-22) totaled 18 runs in two games against Saginaw Valley State, coming back to win 9-8 in the opener and 9-3 in the nightcap. TU trailed twice by 6 runs in the opener due to 4 errors early in the game, but came back. TU took the lead on Corey Hornyak's mammoth 450 foot home run, capping a four-run 5th inning. Hornyak finished with 3 hits and 2 home runs for 4 RBI, while Jason Bailey also had 2 hits with a home run for 2 RBI. Donnie Smith got the win, allowing 5 earned runs in 6 innings. Jason Kulp had 2 doubles, Colin Lowe had 3 hits with a double, and Ty Blake and Pat Curtin had doubles.

In game two, Curtin tossed a gem, going the distance and allowing 6 hits while allowing 2 earned runs. TU broke open a close game with 4 runs in the 6th inning. Devin Rudolph had 2 hits with a home run for 3 RBI while Val Helldobler had 2 hits for 2 RBI. Ty Blake, Jason Kulp, Colin Lowe, and Tom Touris all had 2 hits while Jason Bailey also had another home run.
