Tiffin University posted its seventh straight game without a loss, streaking past Lake Erie 7-0 in their regular season finale. TU will now enter the GLIAC tourney this week.
The Dragons, ranked 5th in the Midwest Region, have only lost once in their last 11 games. They wasted little time jumping on the Storm, scoring 4 times in the first half. All their first half goals came in a 14 minute span starting in the 10th minute when Alex Sevastakis booted home a goal from 20 yards out on a pass from Lauren Turkington.
In the 19th minute, Ashley Davis scored the first of two goals, chipping in a shot over the keeper from 8 yards out off a pass from Lauren Bowyer. Amanda Case got in on the action two minutes later, heading home a shot off a Shelly Rogers' corner kick to make it 3-0.
Davis got her second goal and the Dragons' fourth of the half in the 24th minute when she took a Rogers' pass and hit it into the back of the net from point blank range off a defensive misplay.
In the second half, Bowyer scored a penalty kick goal in the 47th minute to make it 5-0. Aleasha Holloway added a point blank goal off a rebound in the 74th minute and Hannah Stevens finished the scoring in the 79th minute on an unassisted goal from five yards out.
TU outshot the Storm 22-13. Lindsey Gallagher got the win in goal, posting a shutout over 90 minutes and making 5 saves.
